Susanna Nazarova
I graduated from Moscow State University with a graduate degree in Applied Linguistics, moved to the US, and completed an MA program in Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition at the University of California, Davis. Since then, I have taught Russian language and literature at the University of Vermont, Temple University, Mount Holyoke College, and Kathryn Wasserman Davis Summer School of Russian at Middlebury College.
Between classes, I co-wrote two Russian language textbooks - ЭТАЖИ: Second Year Russian Language and Culture (with Evgeny Dengub), and ПАНОРАМА: Intermediate Russian Language and Culture (with Ben Rifkin and Evgeny Dengub), published by Georgetown University Press. Both textbooks received Best Contribution to Language Pedagogy prize from the American Association of Teachers of Slavic and Eastern European Languages (AATSEEL, 2019 and 2023) and are used in many colleges and universities across the U.S.
I teach all levels of Russian language in zoon and in person (if you are in Los Angeles), lead teacher training workshops, design curriculum for Russian language programs in the US and abroad, and lead groups of students to various places in the post-Soviet states where we use Russian language to study the local culture. Check out my CV, the rest of the website, and write to me at [email protected] with any inquires, questions, proposals, or suggestions.
